Doug McKinley
Democrat Nominee
McKinley grew up in a military family and went to college at the University of Utah where he double majored in Finance and Management. He went on to earn his MBA as well. He later attended law school at Willamette University where he met his wife. He currently represents Hanford workers and low income customers of the Franklin PUD.


Rep. Dan Newhouse
Republican Nominee
Rep. Newhouse is a 3rd generation Yakima Valley farmer and businessman. He served in the WA State House of Representatives and served from 2003 to 2009. His family operates a 850 acre farm near Sunnyside where they grow hops, tree fruit, grapes and alfalfa. He has a BS degree in Agricultural Economics from Washington State University and is a graduate of the Washington Agriculture and Forestry Leadership Program.
